Overview
Waterpark construction is a hospitality-scale version of the aquatic work PBJ Infra has done since 2018. The difference from a residential pool is not the finish — it is the plant. A public waterpark has to move and treat far more water, far faster, than a private pool: filtration and circulation are sized to bather-load and turnover-rate norms, balance tanks and backwash recovery are designed in from the start, and every attraction pool has its own hydraulic circuit.
This service is for developers and operators planning a new family entertainment park, resort owners adding a wet-leisure zone, and municipal or trust-run leisure projects that need the pool shells, plant rooms, ride foundations and pool-surround works delivered as one coordinated contract rather than a stack of separate trades.
PBJ’s approach
PBJ Infra scales the filtration and structural discipline it applies to residential and lagoon pools up to multi-attraction public facilities. Pool shells, plant rooms and finishing are handled by the same in-house team, so the interfaces that usually cause delay — where a slide tower meets a landing pool, where a plant room meets a balance tank — are resolved on one set of drawings. Ride structures are built to the ride manufacturer’s structural specifications and integrated with PBJ’s own works.
Technical considerations
- Turnover and filtration: attraction pools are designed around the water-turnover time appropriate to their depth and expected use, which drives pump and filter sizing.
- Safety by design: depth transitions, non-slip surround finishes, lifeguard sightlines and clear depth signage are part of the layout, not added afterwards.
- Water economy: backwash recovery, make-up water metering and pump control keep operating cost predictable.
- Phasing: large parks are usually built in phases so an operator can open a first zone while later attractions are still under construction.
