Aero City Water Park

Project overview

Aero City Water Park is a family water park on about 3 acres at Latur, Maharashtra, designed for roughly 400–500 visitors at a time. It brings water attractions, children’s play, activity zones, landscaping and visitor facilities — including a restaurant — together in one destination.

The project has been under development for about 1.5 years and is now progressing toward completion, which is expected in early 2027.

PBJ’s scope

PBJ Infra is responsible for the major components of the park:

• the main wave pool
• the soft landing area and related water-activity works
• water slides and slide towers
• the kids’ play station area
• multiple recreational and activity zones
• landscaping and outdoor development
• the supporting development that ties the attractions together

The challenge

A water park is several construction disciplines running at once: a wave pool whose shape and depth profile are set by how its waves must run, slide towers with their own foundations and landing areas, a kids’ zone that needs shallower water and gentler equipment, and a filtration and circulation system sized for hundreds of visitors at a time. In Latur, water is also a constraint in its own right, so storage and recirculation matter as much as the attractions.

PBJ’s approach

PBJ is building the park with the same pool-engineering discipline it applies to its residential and resort pools, scaled up for public use and paired with visitor-safety systems — the approach already proven at Anandvan Water Park in Ahilyanagar, which is designed for the same 400–500 visitors at a time. The pool structures come first — slab, reinforcement, shell and waterproofing — with retaining works alongside, before the slides, the kids’ play station and the landscaping follow.

Construction / execution

The photographs on this page are from the early pool-structure stage: the main pool excavated, its blinding slab cast and the raft reinforcement laid across the footprint, with a stone retaining edge holding the surrounding ground. Since then the project has moved through the later stages of construction, water-feature work, recreational facilities and landscaping, and is now in its final stretch.
