Dome homes & habitable shells
Single- or multi-dome residences and studios where the dome is the living space, not just a roof — as demonstrated by the dome-cottage cluster at AKAYA Resort, Gokarna.
Thin-shell ferrocement dome structures — durable, low-material, monolithic roofs and buildings for homes, farm structures, water tanks and feature spaces, as built at AKAYA Resort.
Ferrocement is a thin, dense shell of cement mortar reinforced with layers of steel mesh. Formed into a dome, it produces a monolithic, column-free structure that uses a fraction of the material of an equivalent RCC building and, done properly, lasts for decades with little maintenance. It is a specialist technique — the reinforcement layering, mortar mix and application sequence all differ from conventional concrete work — and it is not something most contractors are set up to do.
This service is for clients who specifically want a dome: for a distinctive home or studio, a hard-wearing farm structure, a water tank, or a feature building where the curved form is the architecture.
PBJ Infra treats a dome as a structural-engineering problem first. Shell thickness, mesh layers and mortar mix are designed for the span and loads, openings and services are planned into the geometry rather than cut in later, and the mortar is applied and cured in controlled layers. The dome-cottage cluster at AKAYA Resort is PBJ’s built reference for this work.
AKAYA Resort at Gokarna is PBJ Infra’s resort-scale example of this technique: 10 dome cottages in four sizes from roughly 400 to 1,000 sq ft, with a swimming pool, restaurant and community centre, across a 10-acre site, now in its final stage. This work is closely related to PBJ’s ferro concrete design service, and dome structures on rural land often pair with land development.

Storage, shelter and workshop domes on agricultural land, where a column-free span and a hard-wearing shell are worth more than a conventional shed.
Ferrocement is a long-established tank material; domed tops and curved walls use less material than rectangular RCC for the same capacity.
Domes as pavilions, meditation spaces, restaurants or reception structures where the form itself is the point.

Ferrocement domes sit on the same ferro-concrete design capability PBJ applies across its specialised structural work.
Operating since 2018, GST- and UDYAM-registered, with a 5-year structural warranty.
Assess the intended use, span, site and whether a dome is genuinely the right structural choice for the brief.
Shell geometry, reinforcement mesh and mortar-mix design specific to the dome form, plus openings, services and finish planning.
Formwork or airform, mesh and armature, mortar application in layers, curing, then internal and external finishing.
Structural inspection, waterproofing check and warranty documentation.
Yes — ferro-concrete design, ferrocement domes and cob-house construction are part of PBJ's specialized services, alongside standard pool and building work.
PBJ doesn't publish fixed dome pricing — cost follows the same factors that determine whether a dome is the right structural choice in the first place: the span, the number and size of openings (each one needs edge reinforcement planned into the shell), and the finish and waterproofing spec. A detailed, project-specific estimate is prepared during consultation.
Yes — the process includes 3D visualization and detailed planning before construction, so design and build stay with one team.
A 5-year warranty on structural work and a 2-year warranty on equipment, covering defects in materials or workmanship under normal usage conditions.
