Takawe Resort

Project overview

Takawe Resort at Kamshet, in the hills north-west of Pune, is one of PBJ Infra’s completed resort pool projects — a free-form pool with a separate shallow lobe, finished in blue mosaic tile and set into a paved stone deck. It was completed in 2024 and applies the same lagoon pool construction and pool tiling and finishing discipline PBJ brings to its wider resort construction work.

The challenge

A free-form pool has no straight runs to work from: the shell has to be set out from curves, and a separate shallow lobe adds its own circulation and drainage requirement rather than sharing the main pool’s.

PBJ’s approach

The main pool and the shallow lobe were set out together so the two curves read as one continuous water body, and the deck level and pool edge were planned as a single paved surface rather than a pool dropped into an existing terrace afterwards.

Construction / execution

Reinforcement was tied out and inspected across the full pool footprint before concreting — the stage shown in the site photograph below. The shell was then waterproofed, filtration and circulation installed, and the blue mosaic tile finish and paved stone deck completed.

Final result

A completed free-form resort pool at Takawe Resort, Kamshet, in guest use since 2024.
